EBRD appoints ADG for Women in Business transformation project

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Women in Business programme supports women-led businesses across its countries of operation. The programme aims to improve access to finance while strengthening the wider environment in which women entrepreneurs build and grow their businesses — connecting them with business networks, knowledge, expertise and role models.

In December 2022, ADG Management Consulting was appointed to support a women-led enterprise in Kazakhstan through a 12–18 month digital transformation programme, with the engagement becoming operational in January 2023.

The role we play

ADG will lead the transformation programme, working with the client to strengthen the business foundations required for its next stage of development.

While technology is an important component of the engagement, we see digital transformation as a business transformation rather than a technology project. Sustainable change depends on how technology connects with strategy, processes, capabilities, leadership and the way the organization operates as a whole.

The programme will therefore look beyond individual technology implementations to identify where digital capabilities, data and new ways of working can improve efficiency, strengthen decision-making and create the foundations for future growth.

The assignment also carries a broader significance. The client is a women-led business with more than 75% female employees, placing the engagement directly within the wider objectives of the EBRD Women in Business programme.

“Being selected to lead this transformation is both a privilege and a responsibility. Technology can create significant opportunities for the business, but technology alone will not determine the outcome. The real challenge is ensuring that the organization, its capabilities and its ways of working evolve with it. We look forward to working alongside the client throughout that journey while contributing to the wider ambition of creating a more enabling environment for women in business.”

The project brings together international transformation experience and local business knowledge in a cross-cultural engagement designed to create lasting organizational capability.

The programme commenced in December 2022, with implementation beginning in January 2023.
